Man Punches Officer During Tewksbury Arrest: Police
Jeremiah Bell is now being charged with assault and battery on a police officer after a struggle during an arrest warrant in Tewksbury.

TEWKSBURY, MA — A man from Tewksbury is facing a series of charges after police say he punched an officer several times in the head Tuesday morning while he was being apprehended on an arrest warrant.
Jeremiah Bell, 22, of Tewksbury, is now being charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest. He was already wanted on various arrest warrants from Lowell District Court, West Roxbury District Court, and Dorchester District Court, most of them on assault charges.
At 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, state troopers and the Boston Police Department Gang Unit joined Tewksbury police officers in an attempt to locate Bell from a home on Revere Road.

Once officers arrived at Bell's home, some set up a perimeter and began searching. Police say Bell was found inside a counter in the basement, and "punched an officer several times in the head and body" while police were attempting to place him in handcuffs.
After a brief struggle, Bell was taken into custody and offered medical attention, but declined medical attention for the injuries he suffered in the struggle.
