Man Transported By Medical Helicopter After Tewksbury Crash
Police are investigating a single-car accident. Shortly before the crash, the driver was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run accident.
TEWKSBURY, MA — Police are investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred Monday night in Tewksbury. Police were called to 381 Whipple Road on a report of a single-car accident at 8:40 p.m.
Officers arrived and found a green Jeep on its roof on a resident's lawn.
The Jeep's driver was transported by medical helicopter to a local area hospital for his injuries.

An initial investigation found the driver had been involved in a hit-and-run crash moments before the rollover, and the vehicle had been seen traveling at a high rate of speed, according to police.
The driver received a citation for negligent operation of a motor vehicle, police said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Tewksbury Police and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section Unit.
