Margaret J. "Bonnie" (Garnett) McDonnell, age 89, of Watertown, formerly of Melrose, Woburn and Tewksbury, passed away at the Emerson Village Nursing Home in Watertown on Monday, January 14, 2013.
She was the wife of Francis P. McDonnell, who passed away on February 17, 1994.
Born in New Brunswick, Canada on January 18, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Duncan Garnett and the late Mary G. (Giggey) Garnett.

Margret was raised in Woburn, attended Woburn schools and graduated from Woburn High School in 1941.
Mrs. McDonnell was a former member of the North Congregational Church of Woburn.

In her early years, she was employed as a typist by the Hallmark Greeting Card Company in Boston. In addition, she performed with Art Woods, producing the record "My Happiness" which was aired on the former WTAO in Cambridge, MA.
Margaret was the mother of the late Michael J. McDonnell and sister of the late Lillian Fuller.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 19, at 11 a.m. in the 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Interment followed at Tewksbury Cemetery. At the request of the family there were No Calling Hours.
