Motorcyclist In Critical Condition After Crash In Tewksbury

A motorcyclist was taken by helicopter to an area hospital following an accident, police said.

TEWKSBURY, MA — A motorcyclist is in critical condition following a crash Friday evening, according to police.

Police responded to the intersection of Brook Street and Janet Avenue for a report of a motorcycle crash at 9:05 p.m.

Officers arrived to discover a man lying unconscious on the ground next to a motorcycle in the woods off the roadway. The man, a 56-year-old Dracut resident, suffered serious injuries, including an apparent head injury, police said.

Tewksbury firefighters then transported the man by ambulance to the Elks Lodge property at 777 South St. The site was used a landing zone for a MedFlight helicopter.

MedFlight then took the injured motorcyclist to Lahey Clinic in Burlington, according to police.

The motorcyclist remained in critical condition at the hospital Saturday afternoon.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
