Police Log: Man Allegedly Cuts Power to Neighbor's House

Calling from Washington Ave., a resident reported that his neighbor cut the power to his house. Police found that the power was cut to the side of the house. The resident in question did not answer the door so police forced entry to make sure he did not need medical attention after cutting the electrical service. 
Michael J. Slattery, 49, of 12 Washington Ave., Wilmington, was arrested and charged with wanton destruction of property greater than $250, criminal harassment and arson of a dwelling house.

Car Plows Into Subway Restaurant

Just after 5 p.m. Wednesday, an older male drove his vehicle into the Subway on Lowell Road in North Reading. The crash caused minor damage to the car and sub shop. Police are still investigating the incident.

Driving down 110 over the past few weeks, one can be forgiven if the absence of Sugar Cupcake Shoppe might not be immediately noticeable to those not paying attention. Or at least, that’s what Melissa Guillemette has found.

That’s because Guillemette has taken over where Sugar’s Kate Kelly has left off at the little nook between Nixon and South Chelmsford roads on Route 110 with another cupcake store, bringing a storefront to what was before her home-based Sweetpea’s Bakery.
