NWS Issues Elevated Fire Weather Warning for Friday Afternoon
Officials say the relatively cool temperatures, gusty northwest winds and dry weather pattern across the state are contributing factors.

The National Weather Service has issued an elevated fire weather warning across the region and the state for Friday afternoon.
State fire officials have advised the agency of the potential for Friday afternoon with northwest wind gusts of 20 to 30 mph, along with relative humidities dropping to between 30 to 45 percent.
Officials say the relatively cool temperatures will act as a limiting factor on fire weather potential, however, there is still concern given the gusty northwest winds and the overall dry weather pattern.
