Police Arrest Two on Drug and Child Endangerment Charges

Two Billerica women face several other charges including assault with a dangerous weapon and failure to stop for police.

Tewksbury Police arrested two Billerica women who are facing several charges including drug possession, child endangerment and resisting arrest.

On Monday, June 22, Tewksbury Police arrested Hailey Stimpson, 21 and Linda Stimpson, 44, both of 27 Champa Rd, Billerica. Hailey is being charged with possession of heroin, 3 counts of assault with a dangerous weapon (motor vehicle), failure to stop for police, creating a serious risk of bodily injury to a child, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, and several other motor vehicle charges. Linda is being charged with possession of heroin and resisting arrest.

HaileyStimpson drove her vehicle at a detective after an inquiry was made into her using narcotics at the Wendy’s, located on Andover Street. She was with her mother, Linda Stimpson and her 8-month-old baby, who was in a car seat in the rear of the vehicle.

The vehicle fled onto North Street as Hailey swerved her vehicle at two other Officers, causing one to immediately move out of the way, or be struck. The vehicle eventually came to a stop near Main and Chandler Street where several Officers were able to detain both individuals. Linda resisted Officers during her detention. No Officers were injured during this incident. A small amount of narcotics was recovered.

The child was unharmed and brought safely to the Tewksbury Police Station by Officers. The Department of Children and Families was notified and responded to the Police Station.

Both are due to be arraigned at Lowell District Court on Tuesday, June 23.
