Andover Baptist Church will host its 19th annual MLK Jr. Day Celebration & Unity Luncheon. This is a “free” community event; all are welcome!
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s message about unity focuses on his dream of a world where people overcome division through love, service, and mutual respect, emphasizing that unity isn’t passive but requires active work to achieve a “more perfect Union.” Let us ensure his legacy lives on through collective action for a better future.
We honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of unity by committing ourselves to live, learn, and serve together. Grounded in our shared humanity, we embrace collective action so that his enduring legacy of love, justice, and solidarity continues to lead us toward a more unified future. Guided by his example, this celebration reflects our theme, “United We Stand — Divided We Fall.” Dr. King’s words still call us to action: “We must learn to live together as brothers and sisters or perish together as fools.” May we answer that call—not only today, but every day.
In tribute to Dr. King, this year’s event will feature a distinguished and visionary keynote address by Dr. Patrick Tutwiler, Secretary of Education for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. A respected leader and advocate for educational equity, Dr. Tutwiler brings a wealth of experience, thoughtful insight, and a deep commitment to empowering communities through education. His remarks will challenge us to reflect, inspire us to lead with purpose, and encourage us to take meaningful action in the spirit of Dr. King’s call for unity and shared responsibility. The program will also feature inspiring musical performances, a moving MLK Recitation, youth participation, and more.
