Redmen Roundup: JV Hockey Team Wins Two of Three

Junior Redmen improve to 5-2-0 on the season.

The Tewksbury High JV boys' ice hockey team continued its strong early season play, winning two of three games over the holiday weekend.

Tewksbury 6, Chelmsford 0

On Dec. 28, the Redmen blanked Chelmsford, 6-0.  The offense was led by sophomore Derek Castiglione with a hat trick. Sophomore Sean Brady scored two goals and freshman Domenic Raneri scored once.
 
North Andover 2, Tewksbury 1

On Dec. 29, the Redmen dropped a heartbreaker to MVC/DCL newcomer North Andover. This was a close, hard fought game which could have gone either way. Sophomore Pat Leonard scored the lone Redmen goal.
 
Tewksbury 3, Westford Academy 2

On New Year's Eve, the Redmen excaped Westford with a hard-fought road win. This was a great come from behind win. Westford held a 2-0 lead after the first period. Sophomore Pat Leonard scored in the 2nd to bring Tewksbury within a goal.

In the third period,  Leonard's sophomore linemate Derek Castiglione netted both the tying and winning goals.

The Redmen are now 5-2-0 on the season and an will play this week on Friday at Matthews Arena (Home of the Northeastern Huskies) against Boston Latin and at home (Breakaway Ice Center) Saturday vs. Central Catholic.
