
It was a special year for the Run a Pleasant Mile/5k, one with record turnout and one with proceeds being donated to a special cause.
While proceeds from the race usually go to the Tewksbury Memorial High School senior scholarship fund, Coach Peter Molloy was approached by Coach Peter Fortunato and several seniors following the bombings at the Boston Marathon who wanted to do something for the victims and their families.

After consulting with the THMS Track and Cross Country Booster club, it was determined all the proceeds from the 2013 Run a Pleasant Mile would be donated to the One Fund, according to Molloy.
Following a record turnout, more than $4,000 was raised by TMHS Track and Cross Country and will be donated to the One Fund.

"I'm so very proud of my colleagues, athletes, parents of athlete, and all who are affiliated with the TMHS Track & XC family," Molloy said.
5K Results
Rachel Eatherton, 17, of Tewksbury, took first place in the 5k portion of the 2013 Run A Pleasant Mile/5k with a time of 20:13. Adam Scopa, 17, also of Tewksbury placed second with a time of 20:18 and Matthew Corriveau, 17, of Tewksbury placed third with a time of 20:24.
Fun Run Results
Cameron Gondola, 10, of Tewksbury took first in the fun run with a time of 2:18. Carrina Baron, 8, of Tewksbury placed second with a time of 2:20 and Ben Piccolo, 9, of Tewksbury placed third with a time of 2:21.
