Ryan School Hosts Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Trot and Food Drive

Sixth-graders participated in the annual event last week, competing in relay races under and over obstacles as part of the annual tradition.

The John F. Ryan Elementary School held its annual Turkey Trot for the sixth grade class on Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Students competed in relay races under and over obstacles while carrying a football, replacing the classic frozen turkey of years past. Principals, teachers and staff all help cheer the students on and encourage a festive spirit, including sporting Turkey Team t-shirts and turkey headgear.

Hand-in-hand with this event was a food drive for the Tewksbury Food Pantry. This year’s collection, organized and delivered by the Ryan School PAC, resulted in the delivery of three-minivans full of food donations.
