Schedule for Fourth of July Celebrations in Tewksbury

Festivities will be taking place on both July 4 and July 5 this year.



This year's Fourth of July celebrations in Tewksbury came together at the last minute thanks to hard work by the Patriotic Activities Committee.

Spanning July 4 and July 5, this year's festivities will include pie and watermelon eating contests, free hot dogs, soda and ice cream and of course fireworks.

Events happening on July 4 and July 5 will be held at the Livingston Street Recreation Area

Patriotic Activities Committee member Mark Kratman said the fireworks are scheduled to go off at 9:30 p.m. on July 5, but that time is could be subject to change based on the weather. 

Below is the full schedule of Fourth of July events happening in Tewksbury:

Thursday, July 4, 2013 –Livingston Street Recreation Area

8:30-10 a.m. Continental breakfast sponsored by the Tewksbury Rotary Club. Breakfast will be held at the Livingston Park behind the Youth Center.

9-10 a.m.  Track and Field Games (all ages)

11 a.m.- 12 p.m. Decorated Doll Carriage Contest (ages 3-6), Bicycle Decoration Contest (ages 4-8), Little Mr. and Miss Tewksbury Contest (ages 2-4), Basketball Free Throw Contest, Bologna Toss, Sponsored by Enterprise Bank.
12-12:30 p.m. Free hot dogs (while they last) and ice cream provided and served            by the Tewksbury/Wilmington Lodge of Elks. Soda provided by the Tewksbury Knights of Columbus.

12-1 p.m. Pie and watermelon eating contest by the Tewksbury Rotary Club.

Friday, July 5, 2013 ~ Livingston Street Recreation Area

7-9:30 p.m. Live entertainment starting at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. fireworks (weather permitting) presented by the Patriotic Committee.
