TEWKSBURY, MA —The Town of Tewksbury has announced that a contractor will begin roadway microsurfacing of some streets in town on Tuesday.

"Microsurfacing is a protective seal coat which extends the life of pavement," town officials said in a statement. "It is a thin, tough layer of asphalt emulsion blended with finely crushed stone for traction."

The roads scheduled to be microsurfaced are: South Elizabeth Street, South Rhoda Street, South Amos Street, Charm Road, Strang Street and Patricia Road, according to town officials.
