Tewksbury Caretaker Charged With Elder Abuse
Authorities said Steven Gordon, of Tewksbury, was the caretaker for an elderly woman who was malnourished and living in squalor.

TEWKSBURY, MA — A Tewksbury man was charged with abusing an elderly woman who later died, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan announced Saturday. Steven Gordon, 55, was charged with two counts of caretaker abuse.
The 85-year-old woman died May 5, 2017, after suffering a heart attack. Gordon had been living with her as her caretaker and called 911 when she went into distress. First responders found the residence in disarray, Ryan said.
"Medical staff determined she was malnourished and exhibiting signs of neglect including a large bedsore," Ryan said in a statement. "The defendant’s alleged actions are indicative of a pattern of behavior that undermines the quality of life that all seniors are entitled to.”
