Tewksbury Construction System Project To Affect Traffic, Water Service

Traffic on a local road and some water service interruptions are expected during the project.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Construction will begin on Victor Drive for water distribution system upgrades starting June 20, according to a statement from the town. Work hours will typically be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. excluding town-observed holidays.

Road closures are not anticipated as part of this project due to the lack of potential detour routes.

One-lane, two-way alternating traffic is expected, according to the town. Drivers should plan for delays if traveling on Victor Drive.

Trash collection and mail/package delivery vehicles are not anticipated to be impacted by this project.

A temporary bypass water main is planned for use during this project. There will be some water service interruptions during this project, according to the town. Notices will be distributed to affected households at least 48 hours in advance of the anticipated shutdowns.

Residents that have irrigation systems and/or electric dog fences located within the right-of-way are advised to mark out their location as soon as possible to prevent these systems from being damaged by excavation.
