Tewksbury Coronavirus Rate Above State Average

Over 6 percent of Tewksbury coronavirus tests came back positive over the last two weeks, according to the latest state report.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury's positive coronavirus test rate was higher than the statewide rate over the last two weeks, according to the latest Department of Public Health community-level data released Thursday.

In Tewksbury, 6.64 percent of tests came back positive from Nov. 21 to Dec. 4. Statewide, the positive test rate was 4.46 percent in that period.

The weekly average positive rate hit 5.01 percent statewide Thursday.

In that two-week period, Tewksbury had 238 cases, up from 130 in the previous week's report. That's 55.1 daily cases per 100,000 residents, on average.

The latest data also shows that over 70 percent of Tewksbury residents are now fully vaccinated. Over three-quarters have received at least one shot.
