Tewksbury To Hold 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony On Sunday
The 7 p.m. ceremony at the town's 9/11 Memorial will feature music, speeches and a tribute to the 93 MA residents lost on Sept. 11, 2001.

TEWKSBURY, MA — The Town of Tewksbury will be hosting a remembrance ceremony this Sunday — Sept. 11 —at the town's 9/11 Memorial.
The event will take place at 7 p.m. at the memorial, which is located in front of the Tewksbury Public Library at 300 Chandler St. The memorial was dedicated in 2005.
The ceremony will begin with a procession featuring the Tewksbury Police Department, Tewksbury Veterans of Foreign Wars, Tewksbury Lodge of Elks and a bagpiper.

The TFD, Tewksbury Police Department, Tewksbury VFW and Tewksbury Elks Lodge then will present the colors as the Tewksbury High School band, concert choir and the Tewksbury Swinging Seniors perform the "Star-Spangled Banner"
Local Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts are scheduled to say the "Pledge of Allegiance," followed by the TMHS concert choir performing "America the Beautiful."

Later, the Tewksbury Swinging Sisters will perform "God Bless America" and "This is My Country," TMHS student Josh Biddiscombe will sing "Amazing Grace," TMHS student Julia Borushik will perform "Let There Be Peace on Earth," and "Taps" will be played by Sam Poulton, a member of the U.S. Army, and Debbie Boyce Lisiecki.
Among the scheduled speakers are: Mark Kratman and Robert Fowler, of the 9/11 Memorial Board of Directors, Linda Gay, the wife of Peter Gay, who was on American Airlines Flight 11, Tewksbury Fire Chief Joseph Kearns and Tewksbury Police Chief Ryan Columbus.
Members of the TFD and TPD also will remember the 93 residents of Massachusetts who were lost on Sept. 11, 2001.
