Tewksbury Home Sales, Prices Surge In November

Massachusetts home sales enjoy the strongest November since 2005.

Reflecting a statewide trend, sales of single-family homes and condos continued to surge in Tewksbury during the month of November.

As an added bonus, the prices of the homes being sold also showed a sharp increase during November.

According to information published by The Warren Group, 26 single-family homes sold in Tewksbury in November, that's a 52.9 percent increase over November 2011.

As of Nov. 30, 236 single-family homes had been sold in Tewksbury in 2012. That's an increase of 37.2 percent over the same time period in 2011.

The median price for homes sold in November was $283,500. That's up 6.2 percent over November 2011.

The numbers are just as strong across the state, with Massachusetts enjoying its strongest November home sales since 2005, according to The Warren Group. For the year, single-family home sales are up 22 percent over 2011.
"We're winding down a pretty strong year of real estate in Massachusetts. It looks like sales will be the highest since 2006," said The Warren Group CEO Timothy M. Warren Jr. "We're also seeing median prices start to creep up, another positive sign of a healthy market recovery."

Condo sales in Tewksbury are also showing strong upward movement. There were 11 condos sold in November, an increase of 57.1 percent over November 2011.

For the year, 124 condos have been sold, an increase of 59 percent over the same time period in 2011.

The median price of the condos sold in November was $245,000, an increase of 28.3 percent over November 2011.
