Attorneys working on a plea for Lawrence woman.

LOWELL -- Attorneys are discussing a plea deal for a Lawrence woman who was arrested by Tewksbury Police last October after a trap door in her car revealed multiple bags of heroin, cocaine and powder cocaine.

In Lowell District Court on Wednesday, the attorney for Julissa L. Accosta asked for a March 31 status date to see if a plea could be worked out.

Tewksbury police arrested Acosta, 36, of 5 E. Haverhill St., Apt. 3, Lawrence, on Oct. 3, 2016 and charged her with trafficking in heroin, trafficking in cocaine and distribution of a Class B drug.

Tewksbury detectives were conducting a controlled purchase of crack cocaine by a confidential informant who allegedly met Acosta in the Walgreens parking lot, according to a Tewksbury police press release.

After the purchase, detectives stopped Acosta's Jeep on Main Street.

A search of the vehicle revealed a "hide" that contained additional cocaine and heroin, police said.

In total, police allege that Acosta had more than 21 grams of heroin and the same amount of cocaine.
