Tewksbury Police Officer Hit By Car, Suffered Minor Injuries

The officer was working at the intersection of Andover Street and River Road when he was hit by a car Monday morning.

TEWKSBURY, MA — A Tewksbury police officer was hit by a car Monday morning, the department confirmed.

The officer was working a detail at the intersection of Andover Street and River Road when he was hit by a passing car.

The officer was taken to Lowell General Hospital for an evaluation and was released with minor injuries. He is resting at home with family and "has hopes of returning to duty within a few days," Lt. James Williams said.
