Tewksbury Police Receive AAA Traffic Safety Awards
Traffic Unit Officer Christopher Scott was also honored as a AAA Northeast Traffic Safety Hero at the event held last week.

TEWKSBURY, MA - The Tewksbury Police Department took home two awards last week from AAA’s annual Community Traffic Safety Awards ceremony. AAA Northeast sponsored the awards ceremony which was held at the Burlington Marriott on Dec. 15.
The Tewksbury Police Department was honored with AAA’s Gold Safety Award in recognition of their outstanding achievements in traffic safety and their continuing efforts to educate and protect the citizens of the community. Additionally, Traffic Unit Officer Christopher Scott was honored as a AAA Northeast Traffic Safety Hero.
Traffic Unit Officer Christopher Scott was nominated for the award for his persistent enforcement of all motor vehicle statutes and his constant assistance and commitment to all of the Department’s yearly traffic and community safety initiatives, including the Bike Safety Rodeo, Safe Halloween, Helmet Safety Program, and the Child Passenger Seat Education Program. Officer Scott has been an incredible asset to the Department’s Safety/Community Service Officer and has also been instrumental in establishing and maintaining the Department’s social media campaign to keep the community informed of traffic and community safety hazards.
