Tewksbury Positive Test Rate Hits 8.7%, Town Remains High Risk
The town has added nearly 400 cases in the last two weeks, according to the latest state data.
TEWKSBURY, MA — Over eight percent of Tewksbury's coronavirus tests have been positive over the last two weeks, according to the latest state report.
The town had an 8.7 percent positive test rate and 395 new cases over the last two weeks. Tewksbury remains a high-risk community for the virus.
The case count and the positive test rate both rose, from a positive test rate of 7.9 percent last week.

The latest cases bring the town to 2,121 cases since March, according to the state.
The latest state town-by-town report designated 219 cities and towns as high risk for the coronavirus in the latest community-level report Thursday, putting nearly two-thirds of the state's 351 communities in the red category.

The statewide positive test rate fell to 7.8 percent, down from 8.7 percent on Jan. 1 but still above the level a month ago, 6.2 percent.
There were 7,136 new confirmed cases and 71 deaths Thursday.
