Tewksbury The Site Of Black History Month Film Series
The series is free and will feature three films: "Harriet," "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," and "Just Mercy,"

TEWKSBURY, MA — The Tewksbury Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Advisory Committee and the Tewksbury Public Library have announced they are co-hosting a Black History Month Film Series.
The series will feature three recent films and take place at two different venues in town. All the films are free to the public.
At 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 7, the movie "Harriet" will be shown in the Meeting Room at the Tewksbury Public Library, located at 300 Chandler St.

The 2019 movie tells the story of Harriet Tubman's escape from slavery and transformation into one of America's greatest heroes. Cynthia Erivo stars in this PG-13 film.
At 6 p.m. on Feb. 23, "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" will be shown at the McGrath Performing Arts Center at Tewksbury Memorial High School, located at 320 Pleasant St.

In the 2022 film, which is the sequel to 2018's "Black Panther," the people of Wakanda are fighting to protect their home from intervening world powers as they mourn the death of King T'Challa. Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o and Angela Bassett star in the film, which is rated PG-13.
The final film in the series is "Just Mercy," which will be shown at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 28. at the Tewksbury Public Library.
The 2019 film stars Michael B. Jordan as world-renowned civil rights defense attorney Bryan Stevenson, who works to free a wrongly condemned death row prisoner.
Registration is recommended for the movies at the library, and those interested in attending can register using the calendar on the library website or by calling 978-640-4490.
