According to police reports, at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Dracut police responded to the report of an attempted armed carjacking at a gas station located at 2083 Bridge St.

Police said the vehicle owner refused to turn over the keys, and the suspect left the area in another vehicle.

At approximately 10:15 a.m. that day, a male Uber driver came to the Dracut Police Station and reported that he had been kidnapped at gunpoint by a male suspect. Police said they later determined the suspect was the same individual who had attempted the carjacking at the gas station.

The Dracut PD said it learned that the male suspect had been picked up by the Uber driver on Bridge Street, and that the suspect allegedly had brandished a handgun and demanded to be driven around the area.

Police said that the Uber driver needed to refuel his vehicle at one point, and the suspect allowed him to do so at the Bridge Street gas station.

During that stop, the suspect attempted to carjack the man pumping gas, police said.

The Dracut PD said nobody was hurt in either incident.
