Tewksbury Woman Sentenced To Prison For 2011 Drunk Driving Accident
Accident seriously injured 83-year-old man.

A Tewksbury woman has been sentenced to prison for a drunk driving accident that seriously injured an 83-year-old man back in 2011.
Mary Beth Chandler, of 437 Chandler St., was found guilty earlier this month of OUI-liquor (second offense), OUI-causing serious injury and failure to grant right of way by a jury in Lowell District Court, according to an article that appeared in the Lowell Sun.
Last week, a judge sentenced Chandler to 15 months in prison, with 94 days credited for time served. Her license was revoked permanently and once she is released from jail, she will remain on probation through March 9, 2018.

The victim in the crash, Edward Grant, was a passenger in the vehicle struck by Chandler. The accident took place at around 1:30 p.m. in front of the Trading Post, 720 Main St., Tewksbury.
According to court documents, Grant suffered a fractured spine, lacerated spleen, ligament damaged to his back and neck and assorted cuts and bruises.

According to court documents, Chandler's blood alcohol was tested at .23, well above the legal limit of .08.
