Tewksbury's Allison Luppi to Participate in NEWVA Division III Senior Volleyball Classic
The annual all-star match pitting the top seniors from New England is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 6 at 11:30 a.m. UMass Boston.

Allison Luppi, of Tewksbury and a member of the Eastern Connecticut State University’s Class of 2016, majoring in English, was chosen to participate in New England Women’s Volleyball Association (NEWVA) Division III Senior Classic.
The annual all-star match pitting the top seniors from New England is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 6 at 11:30 a.m. at the University of Massachusetts Boston’s Clark Athletic Center.
This past fall, Luppi was honored for the first time in her career as a second-team selection to the All-Little East Conference team, becoming the program’s first choice at the libero position since 2008. The 5-foot-7 inch Luppi was the LEC leader in digs (523) and was second in digs per set (5.03), was fourth in service aces per set (0.48) and tied for fourth in service aces (50).

Luppi concluded her 451-set career (tied for sixth all-time) with 1,727 digs, the sixth-highest total in program history. She also wound up fourth all-time with 218 service aces, 59 behind the all-time leader. Luppi was chosen as LEC Defensive Player-of-the-Week three times in nine weeks this year and was an all-tournament selection at the Springfield College Tom Hay Invitational Oct. 9-10.
In addition to her volleyball accomplishments, Luppi earned a spot on the LEC All-Academic Team the maximum three times and earned an E-Club Outstanding Scholar-Athlete Award in both years of eligibility. Additionally, she was twice nominated for a CoSIDA Academic All-District Award.

Luppi has qualified for the Dean’s List each semester at Eastern. She is an English and Secondary Education major.
The selection of Luppi to the NEWVA Senior Classic gives the program four such selection in the last five years and 25 overall since 1987.
Eastern wrapped up its second season in 2015 under head coach Megan Silver Droesch with an overall 12-17 record. The Warriors were tied for fifth in the conference (3-4) and as the No. 5 seed, lost their LEC playoff opener in five sets at No. 4 Western Connecticut State University.
