Top-Seeded Tewksbury Celebrates State Hockey Title On Garden Ice
The Redmen earned the Division 2 crown with a 3-1 victory against Canton on Sunday.
TEWKSBURY, MA —The Tewksbury High hockey team earned the right to skate off TD Garden ice as state champions Sunday.
The top-seeded Redmen (22-2) got a spectacular game from junior goalie Ben O'Keefe, two goals from Caden Connors and one from Matthew Cooke in a 3-1 triumph against Canton for the Division 2 crown.
O'Keefe made 23 saves as he helped protect a 2-1 lead late until Connors buried the empty-net goal to ice the game.

Tewksbury took a 2-0 in the first period Cooke scored from Connors and Connors made it a two-goal lead with a power-play goal. O'Keefe kept the game scoreless until about seven minutes were left in the third period, then turned away several bids for the equalizer before Connors struck again from Sean Lane.
This is Tewksbury's first state title since 2011.
