Town Department Heads Meeting To Prepare For Sandy
Details on preparation and resident advisories expected to be released this afternoon.

Tewksbury Town officials are meeting at this hour at the Tewksbury Police Headquarters to make preparations for the arrival of Hurricane Sandy.
The storm is making its way up the east coast and is expected to make landfall somewhere between Delaware and Rhode Island sometime late Sunday or early Monday.
As the impact of the storm hits the Merrimack Valley, winds are expected to be gusting at 40-60 MPH, along with as much as five inches of rain. Flooding and power outages are highly possible.

Because of its proximity to Halloween, Hurricane Sandy has been dubbed "Frankenstorm." It has stirred not-so-fond memories of the "Snowtober" Blizzard of 2011 that buried the Merrimack Valley under nearly two feet of snow on Halloween weekend and knocked out power to 90 percent of Tewksbury. Some residents were without power for nearly two weeks.
Tewksbury Patch will provide updates on the town's storm preparation as more information becomes available.
