2 Hospitalized In Wakefield Double Shooting
Two people were injured in a shooting and police were looking for "an unknown number of suspects" Tuesday night.

WAKEFIELD, MA — A double shooting occurred on Lakeshore Drive in Wakefield on Tuesday night, according to police.
An initial police investigation found that this was an isolated incident and that the victims were targeted. The first call came in around 8 p.m., police said.
Wakefield residents were asked to avoid that area and around Cumberland Farms on Lowell Street on Tuesday night due to a "heavy police presence," according to a Wakefield Police Department post.

"The scene is secure but we are actively looking for an unknown number of suspects," police said.
Police K-9 teams were working in the surrounding neighborhoods looking for evidence as of Tuesday at 10:29 p.m.

Two people were hospitalized following the shooting, WCVB 5-ABC reported. The victims' conditions were not released.
Massachusetts State Police, Reading, and Saugus police are assisting in the investigation.
