A Calendar From A Long-Ago Local Dairy

Each week, Wakefield Patch takes a look at the town's past using an item found for sale on eBay.

Back in September, this website noted a relic spotted on eBay from the former McDonald Farm Dairy, which on Elm Street in Wakefield back around the 1950s. That particular item was a vintage milk bottle that included a handful of Disney characters, including the all but forgotten Clarabelle Cow.

This week, we find a 1961 calendar from the former dairy that appears to be very much a product of its time with "All American" twin blonde kids in early style football helmets drinking milk, and a Valentine's Day cake that looks pretty good no matter what decade you happen to find yourself in. If you click the the month of January you can find little fish marked on every Friday, as well as a thorough collection of noted birthdays ranging from Presidents William McKinley and Franklin Roosevelt to General McArthur, Ben Franklin, Robert E. Lee and General Stonewall Jackson.
