Casting Call: Agency Seeks Photo Double For Wakefield HBO Series Filming
Crews with HBO's "Julia" are scheduled to come to Wakefield later this week.
WAKEFIELD, MA — Area residents interested in a moment in the Hollywood spotlight will have a chance to take part in a planned HBO television shoot in Wakefield this week, a Boston-area casting agency announced on Thursday.
Boston Casting Inc. shared a casting call via social media, asking men with candlepin bowling experience to apply to serve as a photo double in scheduled filming on Nov. 4.
The call further asked for older men between 5’7” and 5’11” in height weighing between 140 and 170 pounds with blonde or gray hair.

The photo double role will pay $219.
Wakefield Town Administrator Stephen Maio announced on Monday that crews with HBO’s “Julia” would be coming to the Wakefield Bowladrome to shoot scenes for upcoming episodes of the show.

Premiering earlier this year, “Julia” tells the story of famous chef Julia Child.
The show is available through the HBO Max streaming service. It is the latest in a line of Hollywood productions to utilize the bowladrome for its vintage aesthetic, which makes it ripe for period piece films and TV shows.
Those interested in applying to be a photo double should submit their information by email to bostoncastingtv@gmail.com. Applicants should include email and cell phone contact information; a photo with height, weight and clothing size information; details on bowling experience; and the name of the city they are based in.
Emails should include the subject line “PHOTO DOUBLE BOWLING // [Name].
