Fire Displaces Several In Wakefield Apartment Building
No injuries were reported during the fire at Colonial Point Apartments, a 178-unit building on Audubon Road.

WAKEFIELD, MA — Multiple people were displaced after a three-alarm fire at an apartment building Sunday.
Chief Michael Sullivan said firefighters responded around 11:30 a.m. to the Colonial Point Apartments, a 178-unit building on Audubon Road. Smoke was billowing out the third floor upon arrival.
Wakefield worked with several area departments to knock down the fire by 1 p.m.

Sullivan said it appeared the fire started in the kitchen. Several apartment units around it sustained heavy water damage. "Multiple units" were displaced, and the Red Cross is working with them.
No injuries were reported.

Lynnfield, Reading, Stoneham, Melrose, North Reading, Woburn and Saugus fire departments helped at the scene. Malden and Middleton departments provided station coverage.
"We want to thank all of the neighboring departments for their assistance in helping extinguish this fire earlier today," Sullivan said.
