Fire Officials Respond to 168 Medical Emergencies in April
The Wakefield Fire Department recently released the April 2013 Fire Report.
The Wakefield Fire Department responded to a total of 299 incidents in April, which included 53 box alarms, according to the April 2013 Wakefield Fire Report.
In April, the department personnel dealt with 168 medical emergencies, including those from motor vehicle accidents. There were 42 alarm malfunctions or accidental alarm activations.
The Fire Department also fought a porch fire at 6 Nichols Street during the early morning of April 20. Due to high winds, the fire was growing quickly and spread to the railings. However, due to the responsiveness and assertiveness of firefighters, they were able to stop the blaze from spreading to the home. No injuries were reported in the incident.
