Medford Detective Cited for Violent Behavior During Traffic Stop
Stephen Lebert threatened to "blow a hole" through the head of driver during a traffic stop back in July.

Police in Medford say Detective Stephen Lebert was in violation of several department rules when he threatened to kill a driver during a traffic stop back in July.
On Monday, the department issued a notice stating Lebert has been administratively cited for conduct unbecoming an officer, conduct injurious to the public peace and welfare, breaking the department’s pursuit policy and for violating its use of force policy.
In July, Lebert stopped a driver who went through a Medford rotary going in the wrong direction. The veteran detective was off duty at the time of the stop. He was caught on dashboard camera video threatening to “blow a hole” through the driver’s head.

According to the notice, Lebert was previously suspended twice in 1986 and once in 1992.
Lebert’s disciplinary hearing has been scheduled for Oct. 15. He’ll either be terminated or suspended.
