Norovirus Hits Wakefield School, Over 100 Out Sick
On Wednesday, 110 children called in sick and another 38 were sent home.

WAKEFIELD, MA - Over 100 kids have called in sick from Woodville Elementary School in Wakefield.
According to Board Of Health Director Ruth Clay, a presumed norovirus has hit 30-35 percent of the school.
On Wednesday, 110 children called in sick and another 38 were sent home. In addition, six teachers, a nurse and a custodian are all sick. Today, about half the school is absent, Clay said.

Clay said that two kids were sent home Thursday before lunch. The Health Department has aksed that parents keep sick children at home for 48 hours after their last symptom.
Officials anticipate the virus will break over the weekend.
