Woman Killed In Wakefield Crash

A woman died after being struck by a truck on Main Street Wednesday evening.

WAKEFIELD, MA — A woman died after being struck by a truck on Main Street Wednesday evening.

The crash happened around 6:26 p.m. near Hanson Street.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Wakefield Police Chief Steven Skory said a woman in her 60s was struck by a Nissan Frontier truck. The woman was flown to Brigham and Women's Hospital, where she died.

The driver of the truck, a man in his 50s, stayed on scene. No charges have been filed.

An officer at the station said he believed a detour was still in place around 9 p.m.
