'Rise Of Moors' Suspects With Another Bizarre Court Appearance
Prosecutors said one of the members of the group told police the highway standoff would have ended differently had they called in backup.

WOBURN, MA — More details about the I-95 standoff between members of the Rise of the Moors group and authorities leaked out during the latest bizarre court proceedings involving those arrested that day.
A prosecutor said one of the men told another during the highway confrontation with police, "You're a sniper, so get your sniper and go to the front of the van," according to WCVB.
Another man was accused of telling police the incident would have turned out differently had the group called in backup.

Aaron Jimenez, 27, of the Bronx, N.Y., Aaron Lamont Johnson, 29, of Detroit Steven Perez, 31, of the Bronx, N.Y. appeared before a judge in Woburn District Court Tuesday.
As has been the case for most of the Moors' appearances, they represented themselves and disputed the court's authority over them.

"They don’t have jurisdiction over me with anything," Jimenez yelled during the reading of his charges, according to The Boston Herald. "I am not a U.S. citizen."
The dangerousness hearing — in which the prosecution requests the defendants be held — was continued to a later date.
Eight men connected to the Rise of the Moors were arrested in early July after hours of police negotiations. The incident started in the early morning when a state trooper noticed the men in and around two cars were heavily armed and in military-style outfits. They said there were heading from Rhode Island to Maine for "training."
The men said they did not have licenses to drive or carry firearms. They also said they did not recognize America's laws.
Police eventually used a sonic blast to incapacitate the suspects.
The Rise of the Moors is connected to the Moorish Sovereign Citizen movement, which the Southern Poverty Law Center says is extremist.
