Stolen Items Recovered After 128 Accident

Occupants of one vehicle observed allegedly throwing items into woods after crash on Route 128.

Massachusetts State Police K-9s recovered two dozen stolen cell phones and a laptop after an accident involving several cars on Route 128 in Wakefield Monday evening. 

According to a State Police announcement, troopers Scott Quigley and Anthony Carriere responded to the crash, and witnesses reported that two occupants of one of the involved vehicles were seen throwing items into the woods. The troopers requested K-9 assistance to locate the items.

Troopers Pat Silva and Dan Purtell responded to the scene with K-9s Charbo and Neko, who found the previously mentioned items, which were reportedly linked to a theft in Stoneham. Items were turned over to the troopers at their Danvers barracks for further investigation.
