Stolen Purse and Four Car Accident Among Thursday Calls

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service on Wednesday, October 30, 2013.
At 12:02 p.m. police assisted DPW personnel with traffic control after a water main broke on Main Street in the downtown area.
At 1:12 p.m. police and fire personnel were informed of a kitchen fire on Park Ave.
At 1:27 p.m. a caller reported that she had been receiving attempted scam phone calls since some mail was stolen from her property.
At 3 p.m. a possibly abandoned small red Pocket Rocket motorcycle was picked up from Albion Street after a couple of days and brought to the station.
At 3:36 p.m. a woman reported her purse was stolen in front of Farmland on Main Street.
At 5:23 p.m. police were informed of a motorcyclist passing vehicles and doing wheelies near Main Street and Water Street. An area search came up negative.
At 5:31 p.m. police took a report of a dispute between neighbors over some tools. The matter was resolved.
At 6:12 p.m. a disturbance was reported on Converse Street. An individual reportedly left, but returned and took the caller’s vehicle. Police issued a summons to a 46 year old Wakefield man charging him with larceny of a motor vehicle.
At 6:50 p.m. a property owner asked police to do a walk through of a Central Street property where a burglar alarm went off earlier. All was found in order.
At 8:18 p.m. a caller reported a woman causing a disturbance on Chestnut Street. She agreed to quiet down.
At 9:19 p.m. Wakefield Police and Fire personnel, as well as State Police, responded to a four car accident on 95 north between exits 39 and 40.
At 11:43 p.m. a Converse Street resident reported a man knocking at the door. He was gone on arrival.
