Town Of Wakefield: New Albion Cultural Exchange Exhibits Celebrates Art And Food

The Albion Cultural Exchange (ACE) and the Wakefield Farmers Market will welcome spring with a new exhibit, Art & Edibles 2022. This community exhibit celebrates not only food-inspired art, but also local businesses that create and sell food. The event will be hosted in the recently renovated Albion Cultural Exchange, 9 Albion Street, on Friday evenings from March 18 to April 15, 2022.

“This is a true community event,” notes ACE Chairperson Christopher J. Carino. “We’re partnering with the Wakefield Lynnfield Chamber of Commerce and Wakefield Main Streets to showcase menus of local restaurants so participants can explore places to dine here in town. With their support, we’re also able to raffle off a $50 restaurant gift card each night so folks can try a new local establishment or return to an old favorite. It’s a unique opportunity to discover beautiful art and lift our community at the same time.”

Opening night, the first of five Friday-evening sessions, is March 18. The exhibit is free and will run from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

The exhibit will also serve as a drop-off site for Wakefield Food Pantry donations. Participants and attendees are encouraged to bring nonperishables like canned goods, cake and brownie mixes, pasta, peanut butter, rice, health and beauty items, and cleaning supplies. The Albion Cultural Exchange is a town-owned facility originally constructed as a post office in 1910.
