WAKEFIELD, MA — A Wakefield man was arrested after police said he shoved a teen girl off a Cohasset bridge.

Authorities were called Friday afternoon to the Border Street Bridge for a report of an intoxicated man harassing teens on the bridge. When officers arrived, the teens and a witness pointed out a man later identified as 57-year-old Wayne Aikens.

One of the teen boys said Aikens approached the group on the bridge, encouraging them to jump into the water. The boys said when one of the girls said she didn't want to jump, Aikens put his hands around her waist and twice pushed her, the second time causing her to drop 10-15 feet into the water below.
