Wakefield Recycling & Sustainability Day Coming Up

The "spring clean your clutter for a cause" event will be this weekend.

WAKEFIELD, MA — Wakefield will host Recycling & Sustainability Day on Saturday, June 14. The event will be at Wakefield Memorial High School from 9 a.m. to noon.

The fourth annual event is a joint venture by the town and State Rep. Kate Lipper-Garabedian.

The event offers an opportunity to recycle old electronics and bulky items like mattresses and car tires.

Residents can learn about new community solar options with Wakefield Municipal Gas & Light Department, which will also collect and dispose dehumidifiers free of charge.

Participants can bring items to donate to Habitat for Humanity as well.
