Wakefield Releases Details On Curbside Leaf Pickup
The town has released the schedule for fall curbside leaf pickup.

WAKEFIELD, MA — Curbside leaf pickup will take place on November 8 and November 22. Please place your yard waste at the curb by 7 a.m. in biodegradable paper bags or barrels. Plastic bags cannot be collected. Please cut branches into 3’ lengths or less and tie in bundles no more than 18” in diameter.
The Nahant Street yard waste is available for the disposal of leaves, grass, clippings, shrubs, and brush on scheduled dates throughout the season. Permits can be obtained at the DPW office at Town Hall or purchased online at www.wakefieldma.gov/Online-Payments.

You may also consider composting. Leaves can be composted into a nutrient-rich fertilizer for your plants. Learn about backyard composting from the EPA at https://www.epa.gov/recycle/composting-home. In addition, a mulching mower can turn your leaves into mulch to use in your flower beds and landscaping.
