Wakefield Running Sustainability Drive: How To Help
Save your squeeze applesauce, fruit or yogurt pouches.
WAKEFIELD, MA — Does your family have squeeze applesauce, fruit or yogurt pouches?
The Wakefield Environmental Sustainability Committee is planning a sustainability recycling drive later this fall where members will look to collect pouches and their caps. The committee is teaming up with the business "Terra Cycle" to recycle the donated materials.
The recycle drive is set for Oct. 1 at the Wakefield Farmers Market at Hall Park on North Avenue in Wakefield. Committee members will be on site from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In addition to recycling, visitors at the Sustainability Committee’s booth on Oct. 1 can browse educational materials and participate in games and activities. Anyone interested in getting involved with local sustainability initiatives can visit the committee’s booth, attend an upcoming meeting or reach out by email via ESC@wakefield.ma.us.
The larger Wakefield Farmers Market runs weekly on Saturdays at Hall Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Wakefield. It boasts dozens of vendors on the shores of Lake Quannapowitt.
