Walton St., Pleasant St. Among Areas Eyed in Wednesday Mosquito Spraying

The town will be spraying for mosquioto's in several areas of town this Wednesday through the East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project.
The project's spraying trucks will be going through certain neighborhoods from dusk until midnight on Wednesday, July 3.
They'll be focusing on areas around and along the follow streets:  Lowell Street, Salem Street, Vernon Street, Pleasant Street, and Walton Street.
"The Project uses a spray formulation containing the pesticide, sumithrin, to control mosquitoes.  Sumithrin is a synthetic pyrethroid that is classified as a slightly toxic pesticide by the EPA," a notice on Wakefield's town website states.
However, the notice goes on to say that it doesn't pose a large risk to humans or pets because of the low level of toxicity. Residents are advised to stay indoors while areas around your house are being sprayed.
