Woman Charged With Fourth Shoplifting Offense

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service between Friday, October 4 and Sunday, October 6, 2013.

On Friday, October 4 at 7:45 a.m. a man was reportedly hit by a vehicle on Melvin Street. He was transported to a nearby hospital.
At 7:49 a.m. an accident was reported on Hemlock Road, with at least one operator transported to a nearby hospital.
At 9:59 a.m. an accident with no injury was reported near Main Street and Richardson Street.
At 11:47 a.m. police issued a summons to a 28 year old Charlestown resident for operating with a suspended/revoked license.
At 1:09 p.m. a two car accident was reported near Salem Street and Chapman Road.
At 2:13 p.m. police took a report involving a past assault and battery.
At 4:36 p.m. the fire department assisted an individual with three children who was locked out of the house.
At 5:44 p.m. an accident was reported near Broadway and Albion Street, with injury.
At 8:15 p.m. police responded to a verbal family dispute on Greenwood Street.
At 8:25 p.m. police took a report involving suspicious phone calls.
At 9:45 p.m. a Pleasant Street resident reported spotted a man in dark clothing in the rear of a yard.
At 11:34 p.m. police and EMT personnel responded to a Water Street restaurant for a report of a man who passed out. He was taken to a nearby hospital.
At 11:48 p.m. an argument between two males was reported on Richardson Ave.

On Saturday, October 5 at 10:39 a.m. police arrested Sergio Ramos, 29, 95 Preston Street, Wakefield, and charged him with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
At 10:58 a.m. police took a call from Paul Ave. about participants in a softball game using many of the available parking spots. The matter was resolved.
At 12:35 p.m. an accident was reported near Water Street and Crescent Street.
At 1:01 p.m. a caller reported a stolen iPhone.
At 5:56 p.m. an officer removed a group of juveniles from the library.
At 6:33 p.m. a woman was reportedly walking up and down Richardson Ave. screaming and swearing. She was gone on arrival.
At 7:08 p.m. a woman on Tuttle Street reported a man walked up to her and gave her two sets of Rosary beads. He was gone on arrival.
At 9:14 p.m. police took a report from CVS on Main Street about an alleged shoplifting incident. A male and female reportedly fled down Water Street in a dark colored Honda. Soon after, police arrested Aurea M. Rivera, 44, 39 Bartley Street, Wakefield, and charged her on two warrants and with shoplifting by asportation, 4th offense.
At 9:16 p.m. police stopped a vehicle on Salem Street and issued a summons to a 45 year old Wakefield man charging him with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
At 10:06 p.m. a loud party was reported on Brewster Road.
At 10:46 p.m. a caller reported that a family member had just poured a beer on him. Police later arrested Michael J. Costa, 38, 193 Nahant Street, Wakefield, and charged him with assault and battery – domestic.

On Sunday, October 6 at 3:28 a.m. a caller reported revving motorcycles on Evergreen Street. The individuals agreed to quiet down.
At 6:35 a.m. a restraining order violation was reported on Water Street. Police issued a summons to a 32 year old Charlestown man charging him with violating a 209A abuse prevention order.
At 11:26 p.m. a caller reported a possible domestic incident on Hickory Hill Road. Police later arrested James Joseph Bertoli, 21, 58 Trenton Street, Melrose, and charged him with assault and battery – domestic.
At 11:57 p.m. a caller on Overlook Road reported coming home to find the door open. Further investigation found it was likely just an oversight by the homeowner.
