Bi-County Collaborative School Receives Donation From Local Small Business

In early 2025, Toby Burrell, owner of SAB Solutions, Inc. (Walpole, Mass.) gave an informative Bar Code Scanning Technology presentation to the students at Bi-County Collaborative, also located in Walpole, Mass. SAB Solutions was able to donate a Point of Sale (POS) system to the Bi-County Collaborative to use in their student run Convenience Store and Burrell’s talk explained the technology employed by the system

Bi-County students gathered in the auditorium to hear the history and learn aboutthe basics of Bar Code Scanning from Burrell. After the presentation, BICO Transition Coach, Casey Foreman introduced Burrell to the BICO Convenience store to see the Point of Sale system in use and talk with
the students.

BICO student and General Manager of the BICO convenience store, Andrew Latour, and helper Will Bottomly, demonstrated how the system works. Prior to this donation, the students working sales at the store were using paper, pen and calculators when selling products. Foreman explained how this equipment has streamlined the store processes. This POS system allows the students to learn and use this technology as they transition into the workforce and navigate potential career paths and it was evident the students were thrilled with this new piece of technology equipment.

SAB Solutions is a small B2B business which operates on the premise that there is an underserved population of small to medium size business clients that would realize important efficiency and productivity gains from the use of data collection solutions and bar code scanning technologies. SAB Solutions is also proud to make contributions to the local community and is committed to making a difference for organizations in need.

Bi-County’s mission is to provide high-quality educational programming, making it possible for all
students to become responsible and contributing members of society. Bi-County provides specialized educational programs for students ages 3-22.

Bi-County Collaborative consists of twenty (20) member school districts in Bristol, Norfolk, and Worcester counties. Member school districts are: Attleboro, Bellingham, Blackstone-Millville Regional, Easton, Foxborough, Franklin, Hopedale, King Philip Regional, Mansfield, Milford, Norfolk, North Attleboro, Norton, Plainville, Seekonk, Swansea, Tri-County, Uxbridge, Walpole and Wrentham.

SAB Solutions, Inc. was able to donate this POS system via a generous grant from the Charitable Foundation of ScanSource Inc., located in Greenville, South Carolina.
