• Walpole man convicted of smuggling gold out of Colombia, money laundering (masslive.com) — A Walpole resident has been convicted in federal court for his role in a 2018 scheme to smuggle undeclared gold and platinum from Colombia into the United States and launder the proceeds. The 46-year-old faces potential decades in prison, with sentencing set for April 15, while two co-conspirators await their own sentencings after earlier guilty pleas. 
• River Hawks Open 2026 at Dartmouth for the Ivy League/America East Challenge (goriverhawks.com) — A UMass Lowell sprinter from Walpole, sophomore Meredith Feener, posted personal-best times in both the 60m and 200m dashes as the River Hawks opened 2026 at Dartmouth’s Ivy League vs. America East Challenge. The meet in New Hampshire featured strong showings across jumps, throws, and distance events, and the team now turns its focus to next weekend’s Beantown Challenge at Harvard.
