Social Security Expands Options to Change Direct Deposit

Dear Colleague,

We are committed to ensuring our services are secure and providing better service to the public. We have an update to how direct deposit changes can be made. We now offer more ways to change direct deposit:

• Online: Direct deposit updates can be made online through a personal mySocial Security account.
• Phone: Customers can call 1-800-772-1213. Before calling, go to ssa.gov/PIN to get a one-time code. The Social Security representative will ask for the code. To get the code, sign in to or create a personal my Social Security account.

For those unable to create or access their my Social Security account, direct deposit can be set up through a bank, or by visiting a local Social Security office for help.
