To be eligible for the Fales, Leach, Kunde and Rogers scholarships, applicant must be a graduate of Walpole High School. Awards shall be to undergraduates at four year accredited colleges. They will be eligible for scholarships each of their four years. The primary criteria for awarding scholarships shall be scholastic ability, need and character of the applicant. Character may include participation in extra-curricular activities at Walpole High School or in outside activities such as Boy/Girl Scouts, charitable and religious organizations, politics and other public service and such other criteria as the Scholarship Committee deems to be character.
The student must also be sure to have transcripts of marks sent directly from the college to the Superintendent of Schools. It is usually not possible to include marks for the current year; therefore, request the college not to delay sending transcripts in an effort to include current year marks. If the applicant is a first-year student in college, with no previous college record, request the college to complete the form for the Superintendent of Schools indicating that the applicant is enrolled in the Freshman year and is in good standing.
